Big Creek Wildlife Foundation. a not-for-profit 501c3, took ownership of the Rocky Broad River Falls Conservation Area to provide natural and scenic enjoyment to the public. The Broad River runs along the length of the eastern boundary of the conservation area and includes a number of forested habitats like oak hickory forest and cove forests filled with Hemlock and Laurel thickets, as well as an open meadow area.

The Rocky Broad River Falls Conservation Area encompasses rock shelters, mountain rivers and waterfalls, and a range of natural ecosystems, which provide habitat for Blue Ridge Mountain wildlife. “There is a cornucopia of exploring to do along the falls: gigantic boulders, rapids and rock shelter. With adequate funding there will be miles of hiking trails added and maintained.”
