Congratulations to our NALT team member, Ron Lance, whose article on the “Durand oak” was recently published in the “International Oaks” journal by the International Oak Society.
Ron’s article is described as a “summary of the problems associated with the recognition of Durand oak and an introduction to a research effort striving for remedial propositions.”
Earlier this year, he was recognized by the Southern Appalachian Botanical Society with the “Elizabeth Anne Bartholomew Award” for his work in botany. The award recognizes people who have distinguished themselves in professional and public service and who have advanced the knowledge and the appreciation for the world of plants.
