NALT’s summer intern, Daniel “Nino” Tomlin, fits right in with the culture at NALT: He seems happiest when he is outdoors.
Nino is studying Wildlife and Fisheries Science at Penn State University. He camps, he hikes, and he white-water rafts. Nino says he came to NALT to explore whether he can turn his passion for nature and the outdoors into a career in conservation.
“I want to find a way to work in the environmental and sustainability field,” Nino says. “I thought NALT was a good opportunity for me. I get to spend time outdoors and on the easement properties.”
A resident of West Chester, Pennsylvania, Nino has been spending a lot of time at NALT’s 72-acre public preserve in nearby Chadds Ford. Nino has been maintaining the hiking trails at Briton Run Preserve and tending to the native trees that NALT recently planted.
“Basically, if anything needs to be done, I make sure it gets done,” he says.
The NALT team appreciates Nino’s “get-it-done” approach to keeping our conservation areas protected and maintained. He fits right in.
